Tāpiki-Aweawe Grant

Award

1. For study of certificates, diplomas, degrees, postgraduate study, trades training, adult education.
2. The number and value of the grants awarded will be determined by the Education komiti.

Eligibility

1. Be a registered member of Ngāti Rārua Ātiawa Iwi Trust.
2. Be enrolled with a tertiary institute or training provider.
3. Provision of confirmation of enrolment.

Merit Top ups

Education grant recipients are eligible for top ups as follows:

1. Grades- on attaining a B- grade average or better, an education grant recipient receives an additional top up of up to 50% of the initial grant awarded on verification of results. They will also qualify for an Uru Tau / Tertiary Scholarship in the following year (if applicable).
2. S.T.E.A.M. – if studying a S.T.E.A.M. subject, a top up of up to $250 is provided, 1 per year.
3. Te Reo – if studying a te Reo subject, a top up of up to $250 is provided, 1 per year.
4. Wellbeing – if studying a wellbeing course, a top up of up to $250 is provided, 1 per year.
5. Trades – if studying a pre-trades course or apprenticeship, a top up of up to $250 is provided, 1 per year.
